Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
I'm gonna run 15x6" wheels in the front and 15x8" wheels in the rear. Which color should I paint the rims white or blue (body color), Also should I run the trim rings?
Thanks! I can't make up my mind even though I'm far from finishing the truck. |

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
It isn't mine, but if it were, I'd be lookin' for some bright caps to go with the trim rings, but that's just me.
At least go for the trim rings, and no black wheels if you do.

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
I wish I could find chrome hubcaps. Let alone find some in decent shape. I have 8 painted ones now and none of them are good enough to be chromed.
I definetly am not going to paint the rims black even though thats factory for the truck. Last edited by nds1968; 07-29-2008 at 08:23 PM. |

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
I bought these on E-bay and just received them today. 15"X8"- 5X5 bolt pattern. They were never mounted. I payed $100 + $45 shipping for all four rims. It looks like the guy has another set if anybody is looking.
Item number: 360086799194 I also bought these hubcaps for $50. I don't know what vehicle they are for but I am going to run them on my 67 C10. They are aluminum and look very similar to the 67-68 hubcaps that I have. I just have to pick up some trim rings now. |

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
I have enough rims to paint a set black and a set white. So do I paint them gloss or satin? Here are pics of the black rims with white caps.

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
I like the white wheel w/ hot rod rings. The poverty caps look good and maybe you just paint the bowtie your body color....just thinkin' out loud.

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
White wheels, white hub caps, and trim rings.
Blue wheels would be too much. White wheels, chrome hub caps, and trim rings would be the best looking. |

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
Regardless of what you go with use the trim rings, but I think the blue wheels would look good.

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
I liked the blue with the white caps and chrome ring. The blue tied in with the body of the truck and the white tied in with the bumpers, mirrors and Im guessing the grill. Also the red on the caps match up with the bowties on the fenders and grill.
Hmm, I sound like the Martha Stewart of trucks now =) Last edited by CG; 09-10-2008 at 11:52 AM. |

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
If you do run blue wheels run some big white wall tires. That will break the blue up and look nice and retro too.

LOL! Mike beat me to it! Well, guess you get to see double! ^^^^^^^^^^
Blue with Rings Plain Blue Plain White White with Trim Oops, I dropped it. (Just Barely) This is a perfect candidate for a 'chop - great side on shot, and great side on wheel photos. Anytime you guys need something like this done, we have a Photoshop forum just for it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/f...splay.php?f=33 Are you a policeman? If not, is that an ex-interceptor? Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
Thanks for the photo shop work guys, I think I'm leaning towards the blue rims with the trim rings. And I have both the painted and shiny aluminum caps that I can change at any time.

Re: Need your guys opinion-- Which wheels
1. Lose the whitewalls. Sell them. Give them away.
2. Paint the wheels a darker shade of blue than the body. That blue on the body needs something with some bling. White wheels just don't do it. White caps belong on the ocean, or on an absolutely stock, restored vehicle. 3. Use shiny hubcaps, preferably chrome, not aluminum. Those aluminum caps look like Astro or S-10 caps. If you could find a set of '69 passenger car caps, run those. They're similar in profile to the aluminum caps, but have hash marks on four sides of the cap that resemble slots, but are not open. 4. Run trim rings that still show some wheel color. Hot rod style comes to mind. But a rallye wheel style trim ring would work, too.
