Will an A/C control work w/out A/C?

I don't have A/C, but like the look of the A/C controls w/ the surround on it. I am planning the billet surround on the Radio, i have a chrome ashtray, glovebox door, and bezel that will all have black textured in the middle and like the way this looks together.

Re: Will an A/C control work w/out A/C?

yeah, I did when I had my truck together.
The old controls were all beat up, and I found a super nice one at the junkyard for a great deal.
It took some fiddling and adjusting but you can make it work.

Did you have to bend the rods or something? Do i need to make sure i get anything with the controls like brackets, clips? THanks.
