Manual Throttle
My truck was originally equipped with a manual throttle on the dash under the wiper knob. The throttle still works, but it operates very hard and when I try to use it, I end up pulling off the knob and stripping the set screw. Does anyone know how to make it operate more freely?

Re: Manual Throttle
It is a screw mechanism and you turn it. Counter clockwise moves it out (higher rpms), clockwise move it in (lower rpms). I usually operate mine by pressing the gas pedal to approximately where I want the rpms then turning the hand throttle far enough to hold it there. The I fine tune accordingly. Mine is adjusted so that when all the way in, it is tight against the linkage but does not impede it's forward or backward movement. In this way you don't have to turn it too many revolutions to get it to "set".

Re: Manual Throttle
Hmm, the factory manual throttle that is on my 69 K20 is a push pull kind of one.

Re: Manual Throttle
The one I use is a 71/72 and attaches to the cable linkage at the pedal, not to the rod outside the firewall.

Re: Manual Throttle
I see, guess that makes sense given the different way that the pedal works.
