Heater Hose Bracket Hole Location ?????
Put on new inner fenders, no hole punched for the heater hose bracket on passenger side and old inner fenders went to scrap. So, could someone get me a measurement where the hole goes for the heater hose bracket on a 71 C20 without AC ? Any year likely would be the same. Thanks. GM.

Re: Heater Hose Bracket Hole Location ?????
I have never seen a non ac truck with the bracket, on ac trucks I have seen it two different ways- bracket mounted by its self there was a dimple in the inner fender for it ( GM nos part) and the other was mounted to one of the screws that holds the hot water shut off valve in place. just about anywhere on the inside curve of the right inner would be acceptable just a matter of personal taste.

Re: Heater Hose Bracket Hole Location ?????
We pulled the front clip a few months ago, I personally don't remember a clip being there, my 2 sons swear there was one there. And we do have a clip here, but it may have come off a parts truck we have here. I do know the heater hoses were not run through it if it had one.
So they never used a clip on the non AC trucks ? I'd love to prove I don't have altzheimers yet !!!

Re: Heater Hose Bracket Hole Location ?????
OK, before someone else posts it, I found pictures in my own build thread - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=206894
and it shows a clip plain as day, OK my brain is going. I would still like to get a measurement from someone if I could. Thanks.

I have never seen a non AC truck with one. You can tell your kids you're still sharp as a tack.

Re: Heater Hose Bracket Hole Location ?????
OK, let confuse this some more. The old pics clearly show a clamp. The old radiator had a fitting for the heater return, and the hose ran to it. Is that why it had a clamp on the fender ?
We are replacing the radiator with one that does not have a return fitting, we will have to run it to the pump. Maybe I should run a poll : Clip or no clip ???

Re: Heater Hose Bracket Hole Location ?????
I posted my reply before I saw your last one, now I'm puzzled too. I've owned a untouched original truck also and it didn't have one.

Re: Heater Hose Bracket Hole Location ?????
This truck has the heavy duty 4 core radiator with the return hose fittting for the heater. Does not list HD cooling on the glove box, but I am pretty sure this is the same radiator used by the AC trucks.
Maybe the question should be if there is a heater return in the radiator, AC or not does it get hose clamp on the fender ? Maybe I'm just pickin nits here, but I would kind of like to know. Thanks.

Re: Heater Hose Bracket Hole Location ?????
Trucks with the hose connection on the radiator used a clamp to support the hose as your picture shows. Here is a picture of the hose routings as shown in the assembly manual.

Re: Heater Hose Bracket Hole Location ?????
That's interesting. Mine had the radiator connection and no bracket. It was a BB truck, but you wouldn't think that would matter.
