new felt/rubber = window issues
So I replaced all the felt and rubber in my doors... even the cab seals.
Now the windows won't roll up all the way. Seems the metal window channel hits the bottom of the outer piece of felt. I can push in the window from the outside and it will roll (or pop really) in place. I put a piece of rubber between the outer door skin and vent window divider to alleviate the problem so I don't have to push on the window, but it still take s a little force on the crank to push it in place. Both driver and passenger sides are doing this. Is this due to cheap pieces (seemed like decent quality stuff) or am I missing something, like an adjustment? I got the kit from CPP. |

Re: new felt/rubber = window issues
Is it possilbe that you have accidentally swapped the glass for the doors, the bottom metal strips that go on the pains of glass would be off and not able to go up high enough to close.
Unless you have not removed any of the doors guts, then I am way off.

Re: new felt/rubber = window issues
Did one door at a time, didn't mess with the guts either. Just took out the vent window, took the glass off the rollers, put the felt in, and put it all back together.

Re: new felt/rubber = window issues
I had the same problem on mine as well and I found that getting the old weather stripping along the window sill getting those little tabs out(along the door where the bottom of the window sits)had bent the slots where the tabs go. I had to take it back apart and straighten out the slots with pliers and then the window worked fine. The strips that go here kind of look like hockey sticks. Do you know the ones I mean?? The bottom of the window frame when closed is actually to suppose to sit right up in the weatherstripping. Mine does anyways. Let me know if it works.
