Post your pics of Semi Pro Street/Daily Driver 60-66's
Well since I have been told that my truck doesnt classify as prostreet I thought I would post pics of it and see what you all thought. It doesnt actually haul much of anything but A$$. Anyways enjoy the pics and feel free to post yours as well. I just love these years of trucks because of all the stock lines and character they have. Everybody has a 67-72 but these IMO are the nicest years. They just have that look.

Here are some pics of the engine bay. Motorchrome.com has some awesome deals on dress up stuff and the LMC supplied chrome inner fenders really set it off. If the sun is shining just right off the aircleaner it reflects on the underside of the hood and brings out the blue pearl. Looks cool in person but very hard to get a pic of.

Nice truck!
I personally wouldn't consider it Pro Street either.....not sure what catagory it would be....maybe Pro Touring if it has suspension handling mods.....damn nice fast truck? How about some details on your truck?

Re: Post your pics of Semi Pro Street/Daily Driver 60-66's
Thanks I just wanted something different. I wish I would have went a bit darker on the purple but I am not too sure how the pearl would have showed up. Pearl may be a bit pricey but it is well worth it and it comes in so many different colors. I will never paint another vehicle without pearl because it is so easy and it just gives it that extra pop

It has a 425 HP 383 stroker, th400 tranny, 3.40 Auburn posi, Supertrapp exhaust and lots of chrome including the inner fenders, oilpan, diff cover etc. As you can see there is a lot of Lokar parts as well including the pedals The paint is hard to get an actual picture of the Blue pearl over the purple base but by going thru all the pictures you get an idea of how much it changes. It sure keeps people looking as you go past them and it changes colors. The Pearl looks awesome in real life.

Yeah seeing how the Pro Street thread has fallen to the second page and Bad Mofo wont respond to my posts I figured I would start this one.

Re: Post your pics of Semi Pro Street/Daily Driver 60-66's
For it to be pro-street, you'd have very little bed left after the tires were fitted... I'm not sure what you'd call yours, but it looks good!

Man, I've been dreaming of a black bed and I love the look! Did you do that yourself or was that a kit you ordered too? SWEET truck man!

Re: Post your pics of Semi Pro Street/Daily Driver 60-66's
I stained it myself. It wasnt what I had originally planned but I think it looks better anyway. I had stained the red oak with spar varnish marine coating but once I put the boards up to the paint it looked horrible. It was way too red so I tried stripping it off. All was going good until I ran out of the one type of stripper and had to try a different brand which then turned the wood almost green it looked horrible. I finally found a deck cleaning product that brought it back to close to its original color and that is when I decided to go with the dark stain. I then coated it with Varathane Diamond coat. Then I layed the 2 center boards unfinished just to make sure they fit I liked how it looked like wooden SS stripes so I left them and just clearcoated them with the Diamond coat. I have seen them alternated light and dark or all 1 color but I have never seen one done like this. I think it turned out awsome and once again pics just dont do it justice.

Re: Post your pics of Semi Pro Street/Daily Driver 60-66's
Or maybe street freak?
pro street was coined in the 80's, and was used to describe cars that looked like pro stock drag racers. pro street cars usually had 20 inch+ wide tires in the rear, skinny front tires, and usually were tunnel ramed or blown, alot had rollcages and aluminum interiors. street freak was a 70's term, and loosley described, they had wider tires in the rear a higher stance, and were basically built as a "street race" driver. |

Re: Post your pics of Semi Pro Street/Daily Driver 60-66's
labels are so hard , because everybody has different opinions of what=what
my model T is a good example, it is not painted(finished), so therefore to most it is a "rat rod" , however with the exception of the gearshift knob, the car was not built with the cliche "rat rod" rules. I just don't happen to have the $$$$$ to do all the bodywork and paint, so until then I will put up with people calling it a "rat rod" , and when it is done, they will probably call it a hot rod. regardless I like it , and that is what matters most. to me it is and always will be a hot rod. |

Re: Post your pics of Semi Pro Street/Daily Driver 60-66's
Nice interior Kev
I think Hot Rod would fit the bill,Paint, chrome, power and finished everything Jon described. But,for its era ('64) street freak would be appropriate too. Keep in mind, trucks weren't real big back then(sans pre '35ish)every one had '67 chevelles,'68 roadrunners and of course camaros and mustangs Ahh what a time T

Re: Post your pics of Semi Pro Street/Daily Driver 60-66's
I know this is a big request, but I would like to see a shot of the whole bed floor and sides, so that you can see the full effect of the ss stripe... maybe have to stand on a ladder to get it all in?
cool idea on the multi color wood btw. |
