73-87 help
does anyone have any info on making a long bed to a short bed , and im talking about the frame how and where to cutt it to ,make it into a shortbed ..

The TV show "Trucks" on Spike network did that recently you might go to their web site and see when it will be on again. They run reruns many times over. It was very in depth and should be a good guide to you.

that was on a 66 pickup. the dimensions aren't the same.

It is the difference in wheelbase on a SWB vs LWB = 14", you also have to lop off 6" off the rear.
Read the bottom link for a written description and the listed mods to the frame. I would use the pics how-to on cutting the frame though.

Take a look in the FAQ forum here. There is a very well written and documented article there and doing the LB to SB conversion on a 67-72 truck. It's a different frame, but it's great reading.
