Yes.You can remove the entire front assembly from frame and either use the whole thing or at least e sure you have all you need.Someone who has done this swap can tell you what is necessary if you just want to swap essential parts.I believe the difference is in the ball joints.
The master cylinders mount up the same.Just get all parts involved to the peddle.

Ok, the only difference is the balljoints on the controll-arm and tie-rods? I think I am going to change the controll-arms as well. I dont know if it a 6bolt yet, maybe I will just use the booster on my original drum-drum master.

Using Hedman sbc headers will hit the 73/87 lower control arms. Unless you move the sbc back to the 6 cyl position on the frame. What I did was use my original arms and changed out the ball joints for the 73/87 spindles and used all the other parts from the 73/87.

You can use the booster/master setup but the rod needs modified and the bracket trimed.

Re: 87 suburban discs on 67stepside
it's going to be a 5 lug, all the 6 lug trucks from 71 on up till 99 or so woulda been 4X4 trucks.
You can use your original masterr cylinder, but you won't realize the full benifits of the disks. The front to rear proportioning isn't the same, and the disks require higher pressure and volume also. I would recomend getting a new booster and master cylinder for a 71/72 truck. |
