Fast and Furious

Deep breath guys.

There is a new Fast and Furious hitting the threaters soon. What does this have to do with this board? It has a sweet 67 dually truck and a couple more nice rides. Check out this trailer.

My Space link

The video keep getting taken down but a couple of members have found a good quality trailer.

Re: Fast and Furious

Sweet. I liked the other ones, especially the first. I know it's a bunch of tuners mostly but still a good movie. I'm glad to see them back with the original cast.

I liked the first one but not the second one... this one looks good, they came back to the american muscle car roots which is what I loved with the first one

Re: Fast and Furious

Huh, cool, we will see what happens. I didn't consider Tokyo Drift a F&F movie, it was another movie that took the name. I really like the original, and 2f2f is ok.

That wasn't a Charger, that was a Plymouth Satellite named Hammer, made by Steve Strope, and it has a 500 cid Supercharged Wedge motor, it was on an episode of Rides and had an article in Hot Rod Magazine.

Re: Fast and Furious

i never saw the second one, but #1 and #3 were good, and I have them both on my DVD rack.
70' GMC... you forgot the kick @ss first gen monte carlo in the begining of the 3rd one.
The funny part about the green mustang in the 3rd one, when the builders finally got the skyliner engine into the mustang, it turned into a single turbo instead of twin turbo, due to lack of space... but it couldn't do anything. Any scene that shows the car in real life drifting or launching... was all done with a built 351 windsor IIRC.

Re: Fast and Furious

With the original cast back -- it should be watchable. I'm still in shock about what they did to that 69 Charger in the first one though... lol

#2 was OK for one of those nights when you just can't sleep and #3 was just slightly better than Ishtar...

I'd watch it. I never saw "tokyo drift" and from this thread, it sounds like I didn't miss anything.

The video quality is pretty bad, but is that a grand national?

Re: Fast and Furious

Fast and Furious movies are good if you know nothing about cars and have no experience actually racing. I just can't be entertained by a movie where cars change lead in a race 47 times while shifting 63 times and hitting the "NOSS" 5 or 6 times (remember 1 bottle is not enough, GIVE ME TWO!) and when the end of the race is near and they are running strung out, they downshift and then, and ONLY THEN, they put the gas ALL the way on the floor! Good stuff...

These movies make Days of Thunder and Stroker Ace look like documentaries. I guess I'm just too much of car guy to enjoy car movies!

I'll leave you with the most breathtaking quote in cinematic history:

"Granny shiftin', not double clutching like you should. You're lucky that 150 shot of NOSS didn't blow the welds on the intake." - Vin Diesel

in a movie in order to enjoy it you have to accept the fact anything is possible.
but i agree to a degree thes movies are a little overkill but make good box office profits.

I remember pointing that out to a friend. It's almost as laughable as the charger Roasting the tires due to lack of traction and doing a wheel stand at the same time.

At least we learned from the first movie all you have to do to make your ride faster is put a bunch of stickers all over it...

I think I will go slap a nos sticker on my truck so I can get to work quicker in the morning.
