New skins and 15 x 7 steelie rims. Pics!

just got my new wheels and tire on 2 weeks ago. at the time I went with 22/60/15's, but they were just WAY too short. sooooo, I went back and got some 235/70/15. ahhhh, much better. they fill the wheel well nicely and are squared off with the 15 x 7's.

I was going to buy some '53 Chevy caps and thin ribbed trim rings. amazingly enough, my wife said she digs the wheels just the way they are, bone stock, low buck, battleship gray, and open lug nuts.

then I thought I would try a little see ten photographic insights with my "new" '69 Kansas plate. 10 bucks at the Goodguys show.....

Keith,
I went to Goodguys without your cell#. got out there hoping you would be around your Blazer, but I guess you were over in the swap meet.

I didn't know your rig had buckets!!! She looked very nice out there next to the Caddy!!! have a good time out there?

hope you made it back safe and sound. we'll have to catch up with each other sometime else!!

Yeah the '63 Caddy belongs to a friend of mine. It's a nice ride! Maybe I'll see you at the Midwest All Truck Nats. We ended up going to the "Greaserama" on Saturday night at a local Drive-In. Here's a link to the event. http://www.greaserama.com/. They showed 3 old movies that night. "Two Lane Blacktop", "The Wild One", and "Repo Man".

ask and ye shall receive.....

http://www.rallyamerica.com/12series.html

the guy actually welded these up on a "made to order" basis. I ordered the 6 lug, bare metal, 15 x 7's, 4.25 backspace.

he shipped them the same day and I got them in 3. great service!!!

How much did shipping set you back on the wheels?

I think I paid $18 or $19 per wheel, which isn't too bad for heavy steelies.
that was from Sacramento CA to Kansas City, KS

Greaserama is a trip isn't it?! low buck rides, chicks in low cut dresses, and lots of beer. what's better?!

rode my old Triumph 650 down there last year.

I'll see you at the All Truck Nats if you make it over!!! be careful if you come!

Re: New skins and 15 x 7 steelie rims. Pics!

I think the thin ribbed trim rings without caps would look great, my wife has that setup on her's.

The rallys looked good but those really tie in with the look of the truck, looks sweet.

Chris,
I am going low buck, but the rings just might make it on there. I had them on my Rallyes and they actually changed the look altogether.

what I really wish is someone would produce a spider cap for 6 lug rims!!!!!!

Doug, that thing looks good! I almost didn't click on the thread so I could wait until Saturday to check out your truck, but I just had too.

By the way, I love the '69 KS plate, it definitely finishes out the truck. Do you have to run personalized plates inorder to legally run that plate? I've been trying to locate a '72 plate for my truck but I need to contact the MO DMV to make sure I can run it.

They look the Dogs Nuts mate...see what you mean about the center caps, they would just dress it up a tad.
I spy a couple of little lack of distance judging marks on that front wing (I mean Fender)

and a couple scratches on the bonnet! this is how I bought it, dents and all. in the spirit of staying low buck, I am only getting some dents removed via paintless dent repair so I can salvage the original paint.

let the truth be known, I can't afford body and paint at this point. 17 month old son and maybe another in a year..........
