Feeler...8 lug mags

I purchased a set of 8 lug mags from a board member just in case I got tired of the white wheel look. Well I really really like my white wheels soooo. If there is an interest in a set of four nice 8 lug 16.5 x 8.75 mags (Im actually not positive on the width, I do know they arent 10's) mag wheels Ill take some pics and post them up...$200.00

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

They`d be 8.25" most likely.For some reason 16.5s were 1/4" over or under the normal number:8.25"(8") & 9.75"(10").
Can`t wait to see.Are they aluminum slots?

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

Yes they are aluminum. I tried to find the original thread from when I purchased them, but for one thing we only seem to be able to search back 150 posts now instead of the 300, and for another Im not sure I even bought them through a for sale thread...getting old is a *****...lol.

Ill try to grab a couple of shots of em today.

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

I ran out of time yesterday and I probably wont be able to get back out to where the mags are until Wednesday, Ill post up pics then. I wont be able to make any sort of shipping quote until I get the tires dismounted first.

Ill do it quick as I can.

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

Also interested...tired of driving around with 3 hubcaps!! Don't know if I'm last on the list, but price is definitely reasonable for me. Assume these would fit fine on either 2WD or 4WD vehicles, but let me know if otherwise.

Thanks.

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

Ok I finally got the old crappy tires off of these mags today. Boy was I off on the size (shows how much I dont know lol). I guess because they aren't super deep dish I thought they were narrower.

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

Ok fellas, Al had to pass on the mags. They wont work for what he wants to do with his burb. It may have been a problem with him having disk brakes...So hold tight while I PM him and see. Ill get shipping quotes via UPS for one wheel tomorrow at work and post up the info here.

I just noticed a few of you guys are East coasters...We are going to be flying out to Providence on Oct 4th, renting a car and driving up the coast on vacation. Wonder if I can check them in my luggage?

Even if you don't check them, you'd better give me a chance to buy dinner.

I know a few good places in Providence and it's an hour away from me.

CG.....Just FYI, I checked 2 stock rear coil springs last year on a flight from Jersey to FL. Airlines was fine because they met the weight requirement (I coiled them as one, safety wired them together and checked them un-boxed. They weighed about 35 lbs.). The only issue for you may be the extra baggage fee of multiple items. I also sent some 20's from Fl to Maine via DHL and the cost was about $20 per wheel, insured.

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

Checked with Al, basically the wheels were too wide. Mike (stllookn) has the same width and backspace on his 68 Longhorns mags. During our little board meet Al tried one of Mikes on the front of his burb and it stuck out too far. I dont know if it was drums vs. disk thing, or maybe the 68 just has a narrower track?

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

OK, so far...This is from my works UPS commercial acct

Calculated at: One wheel weighing 27lbs plus packaging=30lbs

pjwlk99 30lbs comes to 29.07 per wheel.

grendel 30lbs comes to 31.61 per wheel

I can get other quotes for people that are in line if you toss out your zip code for me. Give it a couple days for everyone to check in and we will see if anyone really wants to pay the crazy shipping costs...lol.

UPS is my only viable option...sorry if that doesn't work for everyone.

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

Yeah....Im sorry, I figured they would be too expensive to be shipped. I got a pretty small package from a board member recently shipped via the post office and it was 21 bucks from Bama to Washington.

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

So these will fit a 70 3/4 ton 8 lug suburban with drum brakes, right? How would you rate the condition and ability to buff out with a little elbow grease? And total w/shipping (yikes) to 04107 (maine). THanks.

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

They are pretty nice mags. No serious rash...grendel is in NH and they were 31.61 per wheel to him...so I think yikes is appropriate. Close to 330 bucks total to him so probably a bit more to you. In my opinion way more than they are worth...Not much of a salesman am I? LOL

Re: Feeler...8 lug mags

I'm interested in the wheels. Can you tell me what the back spacing is? (Lay one face up, and measure from the floor to the backside of the bolt flange).
Thanks
