Finished up ..Pictures

Got the bar installed. I don't know how it drives yet haven't gone any place today. Been busy cleaning it up and the new golfcart I bought. I think I need to cut the spacer blocks off a little to make them line up better. I think I could cut them in half and have a set to sale.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

It's a 90 model IROC 1" bar. Got for $75.00 with all the hardware.
Then went to Auto Zone and bought 2 3" muffler clamps and the end link bolt kit. Another $22.00.

Re: Finished up ..Pictures

Okay, since I'm a newby to all this resto/custom stuff.....I should be allowed a couple of dumb questions.

What exactly does the addition of the sway bar do? I am assuming it lessens the rocking/sway of the truck when cornering and such. Am I on the right track?

Thanks,
Ashx2

It helps prevent the vehical from leaning in the corners.By doing so it helps the tires maintain a better contact patch with the ground.

Re: Finished up ..Pictures

That 1" camaro rear sway bar will make a big difference in your truck's handling. I installed a front sway bar off a 70's chevy truck early last summer, followed by a rear sway bar out of an IROC from an auto wreckers in town later last summer. So I could notice the difference with just the front, then with the addition of the rear, makes it a dream to drive. You're gonna love it!!

I just ended up making a pair of 1.25" spacer blocks for the difference in the frame width. Then just drilled 2 holes in each for the bolts.

Re: Finished up ..Pictures

Drove the truck to work this morning for some training. I couldn't really tell any differance in the way it drove. This might be a good sign, seeing how some on here feel the 1" bar is to much for a truck. Time will tell. Roads aren't that bad curvey though.
