Re: Doghouse Removal Help

There are three bolts on each side where it meets the cab, then two bolts that hold the core support to the frame. Disconnets the HL & horn wiring, battery, washer & radiator hoses...and the whole thing will come off as a unit.

I took off the 2 core support bolts. 1 top & 1 bottom fender bolt and 1 bolt from the body to the inner fender wells on each side. Is that it? any hidden bolts under the carpet in the firewall?

I just happen to have a picture of at-least the one. The other is just off camera I believe where the arrow is pointing. I just removed my front end last week. You will see the bolts in the wheel well.

Is it still not coming off? Or are you just looking for the illustration?

Right at the rear bottom of the inner fender, where it bolts to the bottom of the cab. I forgot about those too.

Re: Doghouse Removal Help

73-80 per side:
1 holding the fender to the cowl (under the hood)
1 holding the fender to the door pillar (behind the door)
1 holding the fender to the rocker (under truck in front of rocker)
2 in the inner fender
1 in the front core support to the frame horn.

This assumes you have removed your bumper, radiator, battery, wiring harness and made sure the brake lines aren't restricting the forward movement, and if the washer lines are connected it could "tug" on it..
It is also easiest if you take the wheels off otherwise you are going to have to lift it pretty high to get the inner fenders over the tires.

If you remove all that is suggested, it will come off. I have done it to PLENTY of trucks.
