That is one slick rig. I really like the roll cage and spare tire carrier. Is the carrier a custom piece, or is it manufactured by a company?

Re: Latest Blazer in a magazine!!!

The article said he dropped it off at a California shop and they did the complete build for him so I'm guessing it is a custom piece.

Yea , Its probly custom but Tiregate makes one that slides into the receiver on your hitch and operates the same way. I think they call those Hitchgates?

If it's not a Hitchgate, it sure looks like one. That's on my list of things to buy eventually.

With all the $$ he prolly spent at this shop, I woulda thought that they'd have put 1 ton axles on it.

...and overdrive.

Running around with a th-350 and 4:56 gears is tough on the interstate.

Nice rig, but would rather work on my own junk instead of paying someone to build one for me.

Re: Latest Blazer in a magazine!!!

I would definitely drive it to - it is very sweet! Didn't mean for my comment on him dropping it off to be taken negative - some people don't have the time or skill to take on a project. Some just want to have a driver and go - I'm not faulting them - its all good!

I do like to see the wide range of responses you can get from the same pics. The cool thing is you take what you like and leave what you dont. I always liked those wheels in the mag ads but dont care for them on that application. I think the cage is a little much but practical. Very nice rig!!!

Re: Latest Blazer in a magazine!!!

That hitchgate is high dollar. Bet I could build one just as nice for a 8th the price.... Maybe even less with the amount of material I have layin' around.

I had a very similar set up on my off road blazer and I gotta say, these are great for "best case" use but not very friendly for off camber/hill side application's at all.

After the first time I used it on the trail I pulled it off.

Hard to believe it looked like that at one time.
