got my new truck home!
i got my new truck home yesterday, friday we loaded up the 63 dodge that i traded for it and drove about half way to stay at a relatives
early saturday went the rest of the way droped off the car and loaded the truck then drove back home it turned out to be a far better deal for me then what i orignaly thought the truck is a 1968 chevy k10 cst, factory tinded glass, factory air, originaly came with a 327, paint was medium blue, had the 68 side moulding, power brake boster, had some sort of paint stripe acording to the spid, had a wood bed at one point but now it is steel, in my opinion it is a fairly high optiond truck, many of the options are long gone but the truck has plenty of potential the grille and the hood are dented a bit but still very useable otherwise the truck is basicly rust and dent free for being a minnesota truck, the suspension was completly gone through, but a few things were left unfinished, transfer case was rebuilt, came with a spare hd tranny, most of the interior was either missing or trashed, no engine, a buch of the ac parts are trashed, but have good original parts left that may help someone else out seeing as im on a tight budget so its just getting a heater only setup, brake boster is trash but i have another one, bed is a little misaligned but thats not a hard fix i am really looking forward to getting this truck on the road again

Hey drivethechevy... You got a great deal and you have a real good truck to bring back to life. You might want to consider becoming a Site Supporter. The $$$ you save on parts from this site will likely pay for the $24 annual fee. Best of Luck.

Good looking project...might want to remove the key from the ignition though before someone drives off with it.

i have acctualy got quite a bit of work done on the truck since i got it home on saturday night, the interior is completely striped of what is being replaced (wiring harness, ac/heater box, carpet, dash pad, door pannels and a few other things) i have remounted the hood, reasembled the clutch linkage, pulled the under hood wiring harness that was butchered, most of the truck is still very much intact, the fac floors has its issues but its not to bad, inner fender wells and core support are rusty and are getting replaced, found a little bondo in a few spots but its not to bad, some one didnt like rear brakes so there isnt much left of them, it will deffinately be a good amount of work ahead of me but it will be worth it

Re: got my new truck home!
Looks like a nice project. I wonder why the PO cut out most of the bottom forward edge of the engine crossmember?

They have aftermarket crosse members that you might be better off with, not too much money and they just plain ole look cool.
