Different prop valve power vs. non-power brakes?
Wondering if there's a difference in proportioning valves between non-power and power brakes for my '72. I'm converting to PB and hope to save the expense of buying yet another part if I can use my existing prop valve.
Thanks, Brent

the valve is the same, a booster does nothing to the hydraluics of the system.

That's what I thought but didn't want to take a chance when it comes to my brakes. Thanks!

For sure. I've got WAY too many hours into this to take chances -- and that's with it still not yet even a rolling chassis again! Thanks again.

Re: Different prop valve power vs. non-power brakes?
How much difference is there in the brake boosters? I want to convert my 67 C20 with drums all around to power brakes. I found a complete power brake setup at a junkyard from a disc brake C20. Is this not a good booster to use? Should I use a C20 drum brake booster only? The junkyard crushed the rest of that truck, I want to convert to front disc someday, but you know the whole time and money thing. If my truck dies I'm riding a bicycle!

Whatever you go with, be sure to use the original drum brake prop valve until you make the upgrade to discs up front.

Re: Different prop valve power vs. non-power brakes?
Thanks brossow, I thought they were different from looking at the NAPA auto parts website. Just wanted to be sure since it is brakes like you said. I know C10 is diffenent found a lot of those in the past. I found disc setup on a 77 C20 but I think the tie rod ends are bigger. What do you think?

The boosters aren't the same.
