How about a show of hands about this ?

This involves a short story to fill you in on why I ask this question .. It's A little late to change things but want to know what you all think of my set up with Motor & Tranny .

I bought My truck (1972) with the Motor and Transmission in it ,,and both are fresh rebuilds and the tranny is supposed to be "breafed up" while doing so.

I have a 396 -1972 Chevelle engine ( bored out the .30 to make it a 402.. about 360 horse I was told .. and the tranny is a 350 th .

My question :: Is this tranny going to be tought enough with this motor ?

I know this ,,It would of been a lot simpler if it had a 400th in it to bolt the mounts down., and hook up the passing gear shifter..

A little late to cry about it and hope I am not going to regret it papa

Re: How about a show of hands about this ?

I'm running a 454 with solid lifter cam and all the goodies (~400ish HP). A 350 trans plus a Detroit Locker rear. I'm hard on it and it’s held up fine for the last 2 years. I did have the tranny built with that in mind though

if the tranny was built to hold up to the engine, then you'll be fine.
If it wasn't built for the power, you'll find out later.
