I thought you guys might get a kick out of this thread on the stovebolt page.

According to them all you need for a 73-87 chevy truck $38.48 worth of brush-on paint, a can of bondo, a can of spray foam and a couple rolls of duct tape!

The previous owners of my truck painted it with blue house paint. Looks like they used a roller too. It looks good from a distance, but like crap up close.

When I was in high school we had a 52? International truck. It had lived most of its life on a California orchard and was in very nice shape for its age. The paint was faded so my dad insisted that I paint it with a brush. I begged and pleaded with him to cough up the 300-500 bucks it would cost at the time to have it sprayed but he never did go for it. I finally painted it with a brush. It looked like crap after that and I'm sure it was ruined as far as collector value.

My 86 was from a "rural" community around here.Lets just say that it had a few brush and roller strokes on the panels from the bad attempt to keep it a similar color.Not to add to the fact they also had about 10 red reflectors on it.2 on each fender and 2 on the tailgate

Needless to say they ended up on the floor as soon as i got it home,along with a few discs of 300 grit
