I was told that a "TRUE" Cheyenne Cab has

snap in places for the headliners and custom cabs do not..Appreciate some one with knowledge that will elaberate on this ..and pictures of both if you have them .

If this is so ,,does that mean that the snap in chrome that holds the headliner up DOES NOT need screws?

And another question about the Chrome :: was the Chrome from the factory real metal Chrome or Plastic like the reproductions I find.? I did look back in the arcaves but didn't find what I ask.. LD from Oregon

Re: I was told that a "TRUE" Cheyenne Cab has

cheyenne cabs did have the headliner square holes for the trim to snap into, but screwed in as well in the ends of the four pieces. the factory were plastic chrome and not metal.

I believe that a true Cheyenne cab will also always have a cargo light.

Re: I was told that a "TRUE" Cheyenne Cab has

One variaton to that would be that some one along the way might of plugged the original holes and painted over and done away with the head liner that was on all Cheyenne Models from the factory.. mhop.. papa

Re: I was told that a "TRUE" Cheyenne Cab has

I would question any cheyenne that doesn't have the headliner and cargo light. They both became part of that option package in mid 69 (when it was called a CST) and it was a package... no pick and choose on the options in the package.
The holes weren't so much of a snap into place, more of a lip to help support the plastic trim.

Mine has a lip and it had no screw holes {unless they were filled and painted over }and is "supposed to be " a Cheyenne Super . the jokie box door says also. And my truck is a numbers matching with all the numbers on the frame and cab that match . I know anything can be altered ,,so ,,is there not a book from the dealer out there some where that can clarify this ? papa

Here's some proof from a 72 brochure. The Cheyenne Supers had all this plus a few extras.

It is the option listing on the glovebox door. Don't hesitate to ask questions.

I believe the cheyenne AND cheyenne super both had headliners. I have not seen a "true" cheyenne without a headliner...

I have the headliner but not cargo light on the spid..some of my spid is missing and the cab was all repainted inside and it had no headliner until I put one in.. .. Like I said above ,,some one before me must of filled some holes for his or her own reasons, and /or put a spid on from another source..

guess I will never know ,,thx all for the answers papa

Re: I was told that a "TRUE" Cheyenne Cab has

the cargo light would not be on the spid since it's part of the package on all cheyenne's and super's.. if it was a C/10, C/20 etc. or custom/10,20 etc. it would be on the spid.

Re: I was told that a "TRUE" Cheyenne Cab has

headliner wouldn't be listed either... only way to get it was with the Z84 option or YE9 option.
You may have a swapped out cab.

I thought it said head liner but it doesn't ,,it doen't say cargo light either ,,what it reads is Ye9 cheyenne super sport and the spid looks pretty good for a truck that old ,,but it has a plastic cover over it so ,,maybe it is legit . ??.
It has options of air condition, chrome bumpers , and other items that are common and it's a CE-10734 Might be a cab from another but like I said it didnt have a head liner or cargo light when I got it ..
I am happy with it what ever it is ,,,LOL .. thx for your expertise all .. papa

What is your VIN#? Mine also has super sport listed on the SPID. The only ones I have seen like that were built in the St Louis plant. VIN should start CCE142S...the "S" being for St Louis

Chrome bumpers would not be listed on a CST,Cheyenne,or Cheyenne Suoer spid because that, too,is part of those packages.

Just the front right? The rear would still be an option right.
