Worth $2500?
I'm looking for something that I can haul the kids around in on a rare occasion and I'm not real big on suburbans or car payments. Here is what I've found 1974, 1 ton, 454 th400 , needs rear shock mounts, rust is in driver rocker and passenger rear rocker, runs & drives excellent, interior is mostly new but mismatched colors, flames only on one side, white walls have fallen off front tires, frame done by a pretty reputable hot rod shop in Co (used to be a board member). It currently isnt registered so he will be trailering it to show it to me, which kind of scares me.
He is asking $3200 but told me he would go as low as $2800 but he sounds like he is VERY willing to get rid of it so I'm almost positive I can get it for $2500 or less. What do you think, good buy? I know it's only worth what I'm willing to give for it but it sounds like a pretty good deal to me, I'm going to look at it Sunday.

Re: Worth $2500?
I would be really concerned about how the frame was done. If the frame was done to your satisfaction then the rest can be taken care of. It's obvious that it has been put together from pieces of several trucks. Check the fit of everything, and look close at the wiring. Nothing worse than a hacked up harness to contend with.

Re: Worth $2500?
I would say $2500 is a good deal if it is what they say it is.

Re: Worth $2500?
the pictures look like something that was rigged together... id have a hard time shellingout that kind of money particularly in this economy
from here the pics look small and it looks like the bed is off almost like the top of the bed is further away from the cab than the bottom, the interior looks like its got no floor or one thats all messed up and the motor looks old too.. do you really wanna spend that kind of money for a project? I dont know who the former board member is but did they leave under good terms??for the money they are asking it seems at least in my neck of the woods, i could get something a heck of alot better
