Re: Flinch in Truckin?????

I know, dead ends....

Not many trucks in truckin really spark my interest... but that was definitely one.
All the others are too showy for my taste.
Oh well... Thanks again

I was thinking the same thing. I know i'm new to these trucks but didn't the Chevy have the same windshied as the 63 GMC?

I just read the article. It says it's a '63. It's definitely a 'tri-6' cab. I wonder what's going on there?

Re: Flinch in Truckin?????

I'm guessing it was simply a mistake on the writers part. A pretty serious one considering he compares it to a more famous truck, Mark Barbee's awesome '63. This sort of thing seems to happen a lot if you read many magazine articles. Even more so on automotive television. Sometimes I wonder if the people know anything about cars and trucks on TV but for some reason I expect more out of magazine writers. Most of them have a pretty impressive automotive resume before becoming magazine writers and editors. Still, no matter how much you know and how much experience you have everyone makes mistakes.

Re: Flinch in Truckin?????

I noticed it was identified as a '63, but it definitely has a 4-5-6 cab.

In the same issue of Truckin' magazine, a '66 K10 owned by Matt Hughes of UFC fame, was identified as a '66, but it had '65 emblems on the upper front fenders. The '65 emblems are long and narrow and the '66 badges are nearly square. The '66 badges were on the upper portion of the front fender and the '65 badges are on the cowl extension. I am not sure which year it was, however it was stated as a '66 with '65 body badges.

I noticed there are fewer fans of the '60-'66 than '55-'59 and the '67-'72, so it may not matter to the masses.
