Reverse Lights switch?

My reverse lights are not working. Fuse and bulbs are good. I assume the switch in the transmission needs to be replaced? Transmission is 4 spd SM465. I have not seen these switches for sale anywhere. Anyone seen them for sale?

Re: Reverse Lights switch?

Your neutral safety switch controls your reverse lights, you can pick it up at any parts store for like $10.

Re: Reverse Lights switch?

Is that the one located on top of the tranny, was referring to as reverse light switch. I did not think truck had neutral safety switch since it is manual.

The manual backup switch is located on top of the steering column near the firewall, inside the cab. It's not a neutral, but only backup switch. I think there are 2 green wires with a plug that connects to it. Don't know if they are available or not. Someone else may chime in on this.

Is it possible to hook this up where it will work with an automatic trans?

That's for a manual three speed... he needs four speed which is on the tranny.. I saw an NOS one last week at Carlisle... guess I should have picked it up.

Is this it?

Re: Reverse Lights switch?

I bought one for my granny tranny at a local parts store and they still have them. Not too much in price. They are located on the tranny and no where else.
