EZ wiring my 65 PU, Sorry worn out subject - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a 65 Short Fleet on a 60-? GMC? frame I think. It has rear leaf springs and a long serial # on the frame. It has a 69 - 350 w/ 70-? heads, hei ign. This is a real Frankenstein so you can imagine the wiring issues I am having with my EZ harness. I have searched here and found many resources, but I am still unsure about most of it. I am an electrical idiot. The main problems are: Do I use the original terminal block and horn relay (what wires?). The headlight switch and turn signals switch wires.. etc. Anyone have a new wiring map diagram? I am really sorry about posting a worn out topic. Anyone live near Gainesville FL to give me a lesson?

Here is a post with a 1964 diagram, it should be the same. Keep us all posted on how it goes!

Thanks bob. I found that diagram and some stuff on the stovebolt page. I just don't know if I am supposed to use the original horn relay and voltage regulator with the kit. Do I need a terminal block? Thanks. I am starting to get the hang of it a little.

Does EZ have a horn relay elsewhere in the harness ? I did away with my stock horn relay, and ran a new one and two more for "full power" headlights.

Cleans up that area a bit.

I also used a one wire alternator, ran that wire to the starter terminal.

It has a horn relay that mounts near the panel. I just wanted to find out if the EZ horn relay bypasses that original horn relay clump? And I have the early alternator with the voltage block: F234. The Ez diagram shows the exciter wire splitting to # 3 and 4 terminals and F and 2 are running to the alternator plug. And I assume Alt PWR Red comes from the fuse block? I have been figuring some things out staring at the diagrams and looking online, but I think I am making it complicated thinking I will do something terribly wrong, so I question my own thoughts... Aahhgg. Thanks!

I am starting to get it. Should I use the voltage regulator and how is that wired if so? It it missing the neutral safety switch, do I need to get another one? Thanks gents.

Mine is Beauregard, but we call him Beaux.
He is a rescue, and 3 years this week.
