Chrome nerf bars? what do you think?

Was thinking about putting on some chrome nerf bars. Not sure how it would look. I can get in fairly easily, but the wife of 5'-9" cannot. Any pics of older trucks with em on?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Re: Chrome nerf bars? what do you think?

I know a guy that had a lifted blazer over here and he used to keep an old beer crate in the footwel tied to the seat base with some rope so his wife could use it as a step to get in and then haul it up after her, you could always colour code the crate......

Re: Chrome nerf bars? what do you think?

I only like aluminum nerf bars since the chrome/powdercoat steel gets chipped in that area and rusts faster...

How about some of the steps that come out electrically when you open the door?

Re: Chrome nerf bars? what do you think?

I like the cheap crate idea. However, I might need to look into the auto step idea. That would be cool.
As far as helping her in......can do, but then i'm all day over there feeling out her butt...lol

I agree on the single steps (Better quality and a real purpose). The chrome NERF bars are just that "NERF", in my mind.

Re: Chrome nerf bars? what do you think?

These were on some booty-fabbed booger-welded PO brackets, but i liked having the steps.

The chrome was pitting pretty badly on the passenger side... so they went bye bye.

Re: Chrome nerf bars? what do you think?

haha, Don't do it. One thing comes to mind, like that bumper sticker says. Lift it, fat chicks can't jump! (joking) Spend the extra money if you are going to get nerf bars, get the aluminum ones. Especially if you are going to go terrorizing in the snow some more.
