Stereo Wiring Blues - **HELP NEEDED PLEASE**
I picked up a Pioneer KP-A100 cassette stereo. It has the wires handwritten on the top of the unit. They go like this:
Blue= Void Grey= Right Spkr Green= Left Spkr Red= 12v power sourch Blk= common ground When wiring this unit up, shouldn't there be additional ground wires for the speakers? Or does the positive side of the spkr wire connect up to the wire coming out of the back of the stereo and the ground side of the spkrs get wired to common ground. It's been a long time since I played w/stereo equipment........and I'm beginning to remember why. Anybody have a clue as to how this should be wired? Thanks, Greg |

Re: Stereo Wiring Blues - **HELP NEEDED PLEASE**
it seems to me that if they are not any ground wires from the radio to the speakers you may need to ground the speaker back to the speakers

-That's why I pay somebody to do it now. When I was a kid I used to do all my own stereo installations, they really are easy...but I have forgotten now.

Yes there should be a grey and green wire coming out the back witha black line in it to represent a ground.

Re: Stereo Wiring Blues - **HELP NEEDED PLEASE**
Agreed with the last two posts.
You can get your 12v power from the acc. wire in the steering column or in the original radio harness. The grounding wire should use a ground that it already being used somewhere under the dash or on the firewall if the wire will reach.

Re: Stereo Wiring Blues - **HELP NEEDED PLEASE**
no need for ground wire from radio to speakers//ground from radio to body ground from speakers to body then everything is sharing the common ground of the body to the frame from the frame to the battery
