Frame table's

I would like to get a thread of all the frame table's and specs for building one possible in one thread. What tubing did you use, stationary, casters, tips, how did you level, etc? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time.

Re: Frame table's

I really like this one that Camburg is building. Its 4x4 and 2x2 tube, with casters, leveling studs, and a blanchard ground top. The part I like is that it is split in two so that it can be re arranged, or stacked for storage. This appeals to me a lot in my small shop.

From what I understand theirs is about 4x16 or so. I figured I would build two 5x5 tables, or 5x6 tables.

Re: Frame table's

Well here is my frame table. I don't have the specs on it since i built it a while ago and i am currently out of town for work. I believe it was around 15' 6" (give or take) long and maybe 56-58" wide. The frame was built with 3x3 .120 and have built rolling legs that bolt on to the frame so i can roll it outside. I also designed my frame so it splits the track width difference from the front track width with the rear track width. That way all of the tires are on the frame as close to center of the wheel as possible. If i remember right i think it sits 18" off the ground. I wanted to be able to slide my welder underneath the frame so i could easily move it around. It only has a 10' whip. I really like the look of that frame posted above and maybe next frame jig i might do that then build a rotissery that would bolt on the frame to raise it up and rotate it so i could easily weld the underside of the frame. Anyways here is some pics of my jig.

Welcome to the board Twisted Minis (I know you from over on the OFN (I go by kkuenemann over there))

I like that table that you posted from Camburg, but I bet that Blanchard ground top would be HIGH $$'s.

We did something similar to it were I work but we just used a hot rolled plate for the top. I have seen others that had the ground top, but with holes drilled and tap (3/4-10) on a 2" x 2" pattern over the complete surface. I think that would make it much more user friendly and universal.

Blanchard grinding isn't actually ridiculously priced as I thought it would be, its rather reasonable. However, finding someone that has the capabilities to do a 4x8 sheet is a whole other thing. The shop with the largest capabilities I have found could do 4x4 sheets. I think a blanchard top is more accurate than most people need though. That one is designed to build a few matching trucks with intercheangable parts. Jerry said his will end up tapped every 2 inches like you mentioned.
