What would work better or what do you guys recommend mounting the bag on the trailing arm or on the rear axle? If I mount it on the rear axle what ba should I use. Also if I mount it on the trailing arm which bag should I use? Pro's cons suggestions anything would be great..

It's too simple and effective to mount it on the trailing arm. Don't re-invent the wheel until you need to.

What does that mean..?

frenchblue72- I have seen a lot of people put bags on the stock trailing arms and seems to work really well, and with a bigger notch it will set lower when laid out.
Re-invent the wheel on this setup would but putting in a triangulated 4link or something to that sort to get the same effects.

It means that the trailing arm suspension is well designed and a simple bolt on bag is all you need.

Yes there are other great ways to accomplish the same thing but why? Unless you really want to go really low, there is no need to build a complete new suspension.

I like a softer bag like a Dominator, firestone or Contitech. 2600#

Im going to jack this thread for a minute...if thats ok?????

What are some of you guys running if you want to pull a car trailer..no more than 8000 lbs.

Sorry to jack this thread but I just need a simple answer and didnt think I needed to start a new thread...sorry....:-(

I wont tow with mine well as of yet...

Try a search in the threads about towing while bagged i know there are a couple in there that people have set up to tow trailers and boats n stuff, hope that might help you out.

Depends on your tongue weight. I have run the 2800# or the New Dominator 2B7D and had good luck towing boats and car trailers.

I have 8503 firstones on my 97' crewcab dually( I have pics of the truck inprogress) on the post your 88-98 ride section. They are rolling sleeve bags that I have loaded down pretty heavy. I am in the planning stages of a 67-72 shorty and was just curious. I have the RE-8 for the front of the dually. Thanks for the insite...
