Fiberglass stepside bed question
Hey all just looking for some input here.
I have been looking for a stepsde bed for my current crew cab project. I picked up a glass nose a couple weeks ago as some of you already know from the other thread. I recently found a brand new glass bed that someone is selling and its brand new. What would be a good $$ to offer him? I really only need the bedsides so it's kinda a shame that I may be cutting the floor and front panel out of it. thoughts? |

Re: Fiberglass stepside bed question
unless you are trying to save some weight by using fiberglass i would buy some steel parts from LMC or some other supplier. Im not sure how you wouls attach the fiberglass sides to the stock bed parts.

Re: Fiberglass stepside bed question
I recently saw one of the old custom full fiberglass stepside beds in the bone yard. It was in really nice shape but had no where to put it, or a truck to put it on. not sure if its still there but just bought a 85swb.

Re: Fiberglass stepside bed question
Hey, let me back up a little and mention that I am building somewhat of a race truck/monster truck with a full tube chassis.
So to answer your question yes I am looking to save some weight wherever I can. Attaching the bedsides isn't going to be the issue. I will frame it out of 1/2" square tube etc.. I have searched high and low and have not found any companies that offer the 73-87 glass bedsides. |
