Dual Electric Fan Install
This is a dual electric fan assembly from a 98-02 LS1 Camaro/Firebird the dimensions are 18"X26"X5".
The first thing i did was cut off all the un necessary mounting tabs and then cleaned the complete assembly. With tabs removed & cleaned up. I then fabed up 3ea mounting tabs out of .032 6061 T3 Aluminum for the top mounts and 2ea mounting tabs out of .040 6061 T3 Aluminum for the bottom. Then i mounted it into the truck using the top of the radiator u channel for the top mounts and the rad core support for the bottom mounts. |

Here is a stock relay assembly i used from a '99 pontiac sunfire to control the fan assemblys they require 2ea.
One fan is controlled with a stock 190* thermister located in the drivres head. The other is controlled with the a/c compressor pwr. Last edited by 87 STEPPER; 12-04-2008 at 10:54 PM. |

Clean! Are you happy with it so far.
Is it keeping the truck cool, can you tell a big defferance in power, and has it helped you gas mileage? I am planing to do something like this this summer.

KAA-LEEEN! And I see what looks like Goodyear Hi-Miler hoses there to boot... nice install all around.
Curious: what kinda' radiator you got stuffed in there?

Thanks guys. Sorry iv'e been out of town and couldn't respond sooner,
Vern, I used a stock 190* temp sensor in the drivers cylinder head to activate one of the fans the other only runs when i use the air conditioner. CJ, Im very happy with the function of this fan assembly i didn't have any overheating issues be fore but i have wanted to run a dual fan for a long time but i could never find an assembly that i liked untill now. I really cant tell if i gained any performance cuz i was allready running a single ele. fan and i dont think i'll have any fuel milage gains either from be fore. 87, Yeah i know what ya mean this is gonna make ya cry! This whole set up only set me back 85 bux!!! The fan assembly was 80 bux off ebay with shipping and 5 bux for both relay assy's from the U-PICK-IT. |
