1972 Blazer with numerous extra parts
VEHICLE AND ALL OF THE PARTS ARE SOLD!!!! Enjoy the blazer Chevyfan24!!
I am selling my 1972 K-5 blazer. It runs and drives around the yard but is not roadworthy and most to all mechanicals will need an overhaul. It has rust in all the normal areas, but it does have alot of it. Pleas ask questions if interested, this is a running and driving project that will need extensive work. My price for the vehicle plus all the parts shown and listed is $2,000 the price is firm. THE GOOD: Has factory tilt column, original 350 engine with turbo 350 transmission, single wall top, has title, factory front bucket seats and factory rear seat, non factory roll bar, 4" suspension lift, complete set of rallye rims. SPARE PARTS: Excellent set of doors, great rear wheel tubs, great hood, great D/S front fender, good inner fenders, good radiator core support, fixable long wheelbase truck bed (bed sides and bed floor), fixable rust free tailgate (has dent), two extra center consoles, and factory AM radio. THE BAD: The truck does have rust issues, however it is fixable. The door hinges are sagging and thus the doors stick. Missing the rear hatch handle. Dash is cut for aftermarket radio. Sorry for the large pics but it does show more detail. Last edited by 1956cameo; 12-17-2008 at 02:02 PM. |

These are photos of the biggest issues I could find with the top. The top is in really good shape from what I can tell.
Thanks for looking I will post more pics of the other spare parts when I get to where they are stored. Price is firm. |

How is the frame around the windshield? Any other major rust underneath?

Re: 1972 Blazer with numerous extra parts
Hello chevyfan24, From what I can see the windshield frame has no rust. If you look in the one pic of the blazer top their looks to be a little crust on the frame but that is about it. I have never had the top off but from everything that I can see it appears to be very solid.
As far as the rust underneath it will need new rocker panels, front floorboards, hat channels, rocker boxes (one could possibly be patched), and as shown some spots here and there in the rear floor(maily next to the wheel tubs). This is a definate project vehicle. However I feel that it has enough extra parts still keep the build costs fairly low. |

Re: 1972 Blazer with numerous extra parts
Hello everyone, Thanks for the interest but I am trying to sell everything as a whole right now. If no one is interested in a package deal then I will either do the metal work and put back on the market or I will part out.

Re: 1972 Blazer with numerous extra parts
Hello chevyfan24, Was able to get to a computer today so I thought I would post the pics you requested. As far as your other questions go let me answer them first.
Do I think I can get all the parts loaded in the Blazer? I think it is possible if I cut the lwb bed floor down. But I cannot guarantee I can get it all to fit. Of course If I do get it all to fit the bed parts will most likely have to hang out of the back hatch. Is the engine THE factory original? I can't say with 100% certainty; the guy I got it from 5 yrs ago said he had it for about 20 yrs and never replaced the engine. The engine looks to be the original, has definately been in there a looong time, and has all of the period correct components except an HEI. I tried to see the cast numbers but couldnt see anything. I can try to find stamp numbers. Can transporter pick it up? If they can come to my house I don't see why not; I don't live in a zoned area. If I have to take it to a transporter location I could do that if it isn't too far away. Will it run enough to get onto a transporter? Yes. The mechanicals are propably better than I advertised. The engine starts right up and runs pretty good, and the transmission gives me nothing to believe that it is going out. The brakes work but barely; they definately need overhaul. Of course I just put all new brakes onto a 72 suburban and all of it cost about $150 thru autozone. I am not guaranteeing anything but if you re do the brakes and give her a tune up and put new plugs and wires in she might be an instant cruiser while you fix her up. How soon does it need to be gone and can I assist if needed? If you purchase her you can keep her here as long as you need. As long as you don't hold me accountable for any freak accidents like a tornado. I live in a semi rural area with no crime so theft or vandalism really isnt a problem. Plus she isn't hurting anything staying where she is for a while. I can assist with anything needed as long as there are no really demanding requests; just let me know what you need. Now pics with info. I will email your personal e-mail more pics. Last edited by 1956cameo; 12-07-2008 at 07:25 PM. |

Re: 1972 Blazer with numerous extra parts
Picture of the front end. You may see a gallon gas can. The reason for this is I kept clogging fuel filters so I took the original blazer tank off to clean. I treated it with phosphoric acid and have been cleaning it with gas and acid mix. Haven't finished treatment, but will if bought, and of course put the tank back on.
The drivers side does have some light filler around the outer wheel well area. Looks like they bumped into something, the filler is just right around the wheel well and not all over the quarter panel. I tried to pop it all off. The passenger side has no filler that I have found. Passenger side again. Picture of the back. |

Close up of drivers side quarter panel.
Close up of passenger side quarter panel. Drivers side rocker area. Sorry I forgot to post picks of the drivers side pillar but if I am not mistaken it does look better than the passenger side. Rear of bed. Between front seats and bed. Drivers side front wheel well. Last edited by 1956cameo; 12-07-2008 at 07:26 PM. |

I know you are not parting it out, yet.
If you do, I am interested in the tilt. Hope you can sell it all as a whole.
