Speedo and Muncie M-21
OK my speedo works when it wants too. I have done everything I know to do. New cable and the little gear on the trans end. Now I noticed the other day this gear is not attached by anything, is it supposed to be? There is a round metal housing that bolts to the trans (actually it slides into a hole in the trans and has a locking bolt) then the cable screws to that. The gear is on the inside of that metal thing. Should the gear have something that keeps it in there, like a retainer of sorts?? I hit a bump it will work, hit another bump and it will stop working. The trans was gone thru about a year ago and everything was checked and or replaced so the drives in it should be good. Thank you. Mike
