Advantage of 8 lug over 5 lug?
I'm still debating on keeping my crew cab one ton, or changing to 5 or 6 lug after shortening the frame. Other than maybe a better wheel selectin and a little bit of weight loss, what would be the advantage of going 1/2 ton? Will a 1/2 ton truck handle better than a equally lowered 1 ton? Why not keep it 8 lug and have more towing capabilty even if it rarely gets used to haul anything?
I will be lowering it 3/5 or 4/6 and adding helper bags to the rear so I dont lose any towing capability either way I decide to do it.

Keep it 8 lug. With all the wheel companies now a days there is a wide selection of 8lug wheels.

Re: Advantage of 8 lug over 5 lug?
I agree but most of the 8 lug wheels I see look like they belong on a lifted truck, not many have the "sport truck" look

Price is definitly right, just not sure how they would look on a 2wd.

Re: Advantage of 8 lug over 5 lug?
The BIG advantage of staying with 8 lug is the size of the brakes. The stopping power is much better. There are wheels out there that look good, but no matter what they will still be rather bulky looking due to the size of the hub.
If you really want to stay 8 lug, why not lift it? I think a SWB CC with a mild lift and 18 or 20 wheels with 33's would look sweet.

I agree with the lift I really wanted a 4wd but I think I got a pretty decent deal on this one before I found one. I'm not a fan of lifting a 2wd, especially here (Denver area) since we actually get snow. I'd feel pretty dumb having a lifted truck in the drive way that wont go anywhere ha ha
