Re: speed shop letters?

If a print shop is in business and doesn't have a resource for printing fonts, etc., they won't be in business very long w/o spending some money to buy some software.

Why not take a look at some historical photos/ads, etc., that show the style of type you want. For example, there are many old ads and magazines that you can find in an antique store, or a flea market, that are from the era you want to represent on your 'bidness' cards. It will take (at best) a little research on your part. To tell a shop what you are after, without being able to show/explain your desires, is probably not going to produce the results you desire. It's possible, but most printer people will have to have an idea of what you want, in order to produce your order to your wishes.

Re: speed shop letters?

Isn't there a print shop local to you that you can walk into with samples of what you want and ask them what they can do for you?

Re: speed shop letters?

Speedway?Or at least that`s what I`ve heard it called by sign painters.I don`t see it shown in those websites. That was a popular letterer`s style for truck door art as well as race cars. There`s a style called floodbrush and with a slant it`s like So-Cal`s logo.I think type fonts and sign painter`s styles vary.

Re: speed shop letters?

LMAO 68Shortstep. Not at you, but with you. My daughter, when she was in junior high, used to love those font sites. I didn't mind her getting on them, seemed innocent enough. But everytime I got back on my computer I had spyware sh!t. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from until one day I happened by and saw it happen. Man that stuff ate my lunch. Finally got it off though.
