What's the difference between doors.

I have a 72, the upper door hinge area is rusted beyond my repair capabilities. I have a few 67-71 doors around, but no 72's. I know the wing window latches were different on the 67's, and the door panels are different, if the chrome strip is removed will the 72 panels fit?

i think and i'am sure some one will correct me , but 72 had reinforcements just below the vent window( the small screw just below) and 67-71 didn't, plus the door panel holes are bigger cause the67-72 were screwed in instead of push pinned

Yeah, visually the only difference will be the lack of a dimple and screw below the divider bar.You could imitate that, though. You will need to swap the mechanicals because`72s have longer shafts for the window winders and door handle due to the`72-only interior panels. You can swap wing vent glass/latch out of the`67 door and use 68-72 pieces.

Re: What's the difference between doors.

The 67's use a different outside door handle. You have to use 67 door handles only. I think all of the 67's are like this. The 68-72 handles will not work unless you modify the inside of door.
