anybody ever use porto-walls "fake white walls" from mooneyes? im broke and cant afford real wide whites and seen these on the mooneyes site but was wondering how they would really look. and it also says not recomended for radial tires but will they work?

Re: porto-walls
I think Frizzle did something like this on his daily driver (not even sure what kinda car it is, but the white walls look cool!).

Re: porto-walls
The last time I used Port-O-Walls, was on my '54 Ford, which got totaled-out in Feb. '65. I got them for my birthday for the same reason you want them....couldn't afford to buy whitewalls.
The way that radial tires flex (sidewalls) is the issue. Bias-ply tires don't flex, which is the key to radials gripping the roadway better than bias-ply tires.

Re: porto-walls
they aren't good for radial tires they'll come apart in short order
but if you use with bias tires the hold up better

Not to Hijack this thread but I am also looking for a cheap way to get the white wall look! |
