Thanks man.
It really works good too.I filled up yesterday and it never gurgled once.
I'm using the Camaro filler neck in the Tahoe door.

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3

what did you do to modify the rack and how is it working so far, as always pictures before engine install. It is all looking good so far, and I like the use of the gauges.

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3

The Camaro inner tie rod ends were too long.I used the stock ones from the '03 silverado engine donor truck, the threads were a different size so I turned them down on a lathe and rethreaded them to fit the Camaro rack.
Now here's the secret the outer tie rod is from a mid 90's Ford Ranger, they fit the tie rods and the smaller taper of the spindle arm mount.

I just centered the rack to the truck frame and made sure I had enough movement to avioid bump steer.I made the mounts from square tubing that I split and welded back together to match the taper of the rack mounts.then welded them to the frame.I did this after the engine was in.

It drives really good. The only problem is that it doesn't turn as sharp as stock. It's only been a problem when I have to get in a tight space.I have to back up a little and turn agian.

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3

Saw that your ABS, Brake, and check engine light are on. Are you runing a re-flashed computer, or a stock one? You can make all that stuff go away and ditch the secondary o2 sensors for under a hundred bucks if I remember correctly.

Any chance I could get a picture of the gas tank from the rear, and see how much it hangs down?

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3

Great job olsofti! The more pics and info the better. Mine has kinda bogged down (too much other stuff happening) but looking at yours make me want to re-prioritize some things. Keep it up!!!!!

I'm guessing you went with the Camaro rack because the truck rack was too long? Or? The tank is from a 98-02 Camaro? Like PrerunnerRob said, how bout a pic of the tank from the rear? And any other pics you would like to post for inspirational purposes!

Re: A few pics of my '64 5.3

Yeah 98-02 tank.?You have to trim the bottom of the frame on both sides to fit the tank.About an inch or so.Then a hole for the fuel hose, worked out great for the fuel door that I wanted.
I made rear hangers so I could use the camaro tank straps.I rebent the silverado fuel lines and used them. The camaro fuel pump and sending unit work if you need the 33-240 ohm like me.

The rack on the silverado was too long and broken.I took a chance that the camaro would be short enough when I bought it off ebay for $3.50.The rack was o.k.,tie rods too long.

Here's a couple more pics;

Wow! This is a real nice, well thought out package you have assembled. And it looks like the budget wasn't a killer either due to your ingenuity. I am sure I will be contacting you with questions once I actually start moving forward with mine.

Thanks for the extra pics and video, btw.
