4.5 inch backspacing with 295/50/15. I don't have these on now because of the lack of drop and the little tires make things looks out of place.

Is this truck stock 2wd hieght.. cause I think that looks awsome.. I would have thought those 50s would have thought the gap would have appeared greater. By any chance do you have more shots of the truck when it was with these tires? Thank you. |

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
Its not a 15 inch wheel , but it is 10 inches wide with a 275/60/17 tire and a 4.5" backspace. It will give you an idea of where the wheel will ride in relation to the fenders .

I agree with this setup. I have Billet Specialties rims and I have a set of 17" rims with the rears being 17" X 9.5" with a 4.5 backspace. Plenty of clearance on the spring. |

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
Is this dropped just in the front and a stock rear? If so, how much is the drop?and what did you use?
Wow I really like this look and it's what I'm going for once my project gets to tires and suspension. http://picasaweb.google.com/cyberpine/1987C10# |

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
That pic was before I dropped the rear, the front just has 1 coil cut, the rear now has 4 leaves removed and the rest were reworked, I'm left with 2 leaves and the helper. I'll find a pic and post it.

sorry about the 20 questions. So you only cut one full coil? That's cutting a perfect ring right? .. nothing else? Did you notice any adverse effect in the ride like stiffness, stearing, handling or anything else? Did you have to get it aligned afterwards? when you cut the coil how much did it drop? I wonder why we don't hear about more people cutting coils instead of buying kits? How tough of a job was it to do that ? Any special tools needed? I just read that for every 1/4 coil you cut expect a full inch drop.. wow. Are you guys cutting coils while they are still in place? Any good DIY writeups for cutting coils on the C10? What are people using to cut? Thanks! Last edited by cyberpine; 07-28-2009 at 04:57 PM. |

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
I'm sure alot of people are tired of seeing mine, but I'll add to the roster.
15x10 all around. Backspacing unknown. Tires are 255/60/15 in front and 275/60/15 out back. Suspension has a 2/4 drop. Thr fronts rub slightly.

I do have a couple of questions: 1) Is the 2/4 all you've done? No drop springs? I ask, because this is exactly how I'd like to do mine. What brand of spindles are you using? 2) Not knowing the backspace, let's assume for a moment it's 4.5 for the purpose of my question. If it were 4.5 and wheels with a 5.25 backspace were swapped out, would that "tuck" the wheels into the fender more, or push them out past the fender?

Larger backspacing will push the wheels out.

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
To answer the couple o questions about my wheel setup , it might rub if I lowered it a couple more inches . My 18x10's I had on the tan truck were 5.25 inches of backspace and fit real nice . The tires are 275/60/18 Nitto's . This truck was only lowered 2.5/4 . The 15x10 with a 275/60/15 will fit the same but is just shorter overall because of the wheel diameter. I ran 15x10 Convo Pros with the same size tire years ago and they had a 5" backspace . Centerline listed it as a 4 7/8" backspace and it was perfect on a 15 inch wheel .

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
so frim what im reading here, a 4.5 backspace would be the way to go with the 15x10 wheel.

Re: Guys with 15x10 Wheels - Inside Please
Unless you lower it a lot, or have a really wide tire. I have custom 6.5 backspace 15x10, with 29x15.5 Mickey Thompsons, they fit perfect and never rub.
