porp valve question
how do i tell if my porp valve is bad? the PO stored the cab outside a couple years with no brake lines attached. it looks to have a little rust in there. that dam thing is 159 through LMC! does anyone have one for disc brakes? which ones will interchange? thanks guys

I know this doesn't fully answer your question, but this diagram answered a lot of mine when I was rebuilding my brakes. Maybe it will help you some.

Our trucks use a combination proportioning valve that has a piston which can slide front or back depending if one of the brake lines or wheel cylinders fail. To properly bleed the brakes, this piston needs to be held stationary. These valves are available from most auto parts stores. LMC price is a rip-off. Custom brake dealers for street rods have them in brass for about $65.--Do some searching before buying. Be sure to bench bleed the mastercylinder before installing. Huck
