Depending on how long that grille gard has been on there I would bet the grille is original, and near perfect.. I'll buy it from you

The grill guard is not factory, and it's only been on since '94. Actually, when I was run off the road a couple years ago, I hit a tree. While the guard did prevent a lot of damage, it was pushed back far enough to wrinkle the grill shell on one side. Prior to that, the shell had been, in fact, near perfect. C'est la Vie!

By this time next year, I plan to have replaced all the rusty sheet metal with new metal and the rattle-can paint job with real paint.

nice. i'll have to get some pics of my buddies long step. it is white primer, has 20+ year old grille gaurd on it, 396 from a chevelle and 4sp rockcrusher. his dad bought it new in '68 and he has owned it since '70

Re: the comments on the grill guard:

The rear bumper is also pretty tough. On another truck, it survived a 60mph-to-0mph rear-end collision from a '70s GTO without letting the truck get damaged. The driver of the GTO ate his engine block. . . .
