Engine Wire Protection

What are you guys using to protect the wires running around in the engine compartment? The factory braided cloth was shot, so I need something to put over the temp, oil sending wires.

Re: Engine Wire Protection

I use heat shrink you can get it in several different colors and diameters, slip the appropriate length over the wire heat shrink just a half inch or so on each end and yur good to go engine heat may eventually shrink it down depending on the heat intensity in your engine compartment looks a lot cleaner than the ribbed tubing for lots of applications.

Absolutely. Replacement tar covered cloth tubing is the way to go. The original stuff lasted 30 years didn't it ? Do it right, do it once.

Rhode Island wiring is where I get all my electrical stuff from.

Re: Engine Wire Protection

thanks for the link. I think that is stuff I will go with. What sizes are you getting for single wires? I thought all the stock stuff was single wire runs.

Re: Engine Wire Protection

I just re-did most of my engine bay with this stuff: Looks really nice and says it is heat resistant to 275 degrees.
