Re: need opinions on a wheel
I was thinking 15x8 outback and 15x7 front would be fun, or should i just choose one size? Those are the only sizes offered for that particular style. BTW the truck is getting a 2/3 drop soon

Re: need opinions on a wheel
Wheels will look good, but would look even better if you lost the 4x4 stance by way of a suspension drop when you put them on.

Re: need opinions on a wheel
Well, this truck is my daily driver so I want to have style but functionality. What drop would you suggest. maybe a 3/4 instead? I want to avoid the axle flip if possible but still get that nice tucked look. My tires are 275/55/R15. is that to wide a tires for a 4" drop? Im sorry i know I have tons of questions.

Re: need opinions on a wheel
Those wheels would look great on it! Doesn't look like a 4x4 to me! LOL To me, mine looks like a 2wd since I only have a 4 inch lift and 33s, but I'm getting too old and fat to put a real man's lift on it these days! Wouldn't be able to get up in it like the good old days if I did! ...Joe

Re: need opinions on a wheel
Well, I thought about that, they look great. I'm not trying to be a Seems everyone and their dog puts rallys on their truck. Like I said, they look great but I want something thats different but still has that old school look to it.
Still debating on drop method and amount...........

Re: need opinions on a wheel
Ole' Skool those would look cherry on your 83, I would go 15x8 on the front and 15x10 on the back, with a 4/5 drop you'll be set

Re: need opinions on a wheel
I agree that would look much better than the 15's. Put a 17x8 all around with a bit more drop and that truck would roooock...

Re: need opinions on a wheel
Is it possible to get a 5" drop in rear with out flipping the axle? I was thinking of a 3" spindle drop in front so I always have the option of adding springs to go lower if I want. and Start with 4" shackle and hanger. Keeping in mind this is a daily driver and idk if you have ever been to Tulsa OK, but the roads and Hwys SUCK!!!! So Getting it slammed is just asking for trouble out here.

Re: need opinions on a wheel
Hay all. I may be the last of a dieing breed. I'm not knocking anyone for thier choice as to how thier truck rides, how tall or short, or what it looks like. It's your choice and I respect that. I happen to like something as close to stock as I can get or use of factory options from different years. These are the wheels I used on mine. Factory for 1989. Had to get special lug nuts so I could mount the hub caps and had to bore the centers out of the front caps for the FWD hubs to come thru.

God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose. |

Re: need opinions on a wheel
I like the wheel choice you have. I am one of the few who likes the look of a 15 inch wheel. 17's would not be bad tho. For me anything over 18 is pushing it. I am not against it but I see so many running 20/22 combos on lowered trucks....... I pefer more of the hot rod look to the pro touring. Again just my opinion since you asked.
Those are great classic looking wheels and I am thinking of them when I end up changing mine out. I always liked the older look of the smoke Grey centers. Little diffrent from the cragar SS rims with the painted centers which is what i like about them. I also would not recomend a huge drop if you daily drive it. I don't know about your roads but frost heaves, pot holes, and the road budget being used for other exensises have killed the road here. I think a 2/3 would be fine but agian I am not a fan of lowering and the large wheels.

Re: need opinions on a wheel
a 3/5 with 17's is nothing.probably a good choice if you really aren't into lowering.a 4/6 in my opinion is daily driveable with quality component's.just be alert, speed bumps and driveway aprons and stuff like that.i like those wheel's.there ol skool cool.17's would be perfect.one thing to note about lowering and it said on here alot.is most people after they drop it,want lower.by the way, your truck look's nice.
