regrets
Have you ever passed on something that you should have bought? Such as a valuable car? I recently passed up a 69 gto, Little did I know it was an ram air IV judge. What makes this really bad is that he was only asking 2000. I'm goona go back and see if I can find his house, but I think the car went to the crusher

Back in '88, I was 18 and just out of high school. I had a '78 malibu "da boo classic" 350 w turbo 350 that ran o.k. Nothing special, but very dependable and could tear up second gear if you wound it up enough. Anyway, I came across a '66 SS Chevelle Convertible w/4spd and 396. It had been sideswiped all the way down the passenger side and it needed a new top. It ran but smoked and was in need of a complete rebuild. Growing up with chevelles, I realized what it was and worked out a deal with the guy. I would trade him my Boo classic straight up. (His daughter needed a car to drive to school) I was to pick it up the following weekend but the starter went out on my Boo and it was two weeks before I could get back over there. You guessed it, gone. He must have put the word out that he was going to move the car and it got snatched. Kick myself over it all the time, but I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason, so I guess it was for the better.:-(
Still doesn't make me feel better about it though..............JB

I sold a '69 RS/SS Camaro Z10 hard top with pace car accents. One of about 60... I bought it for $700, kept the rally's and cowl hood and sold it for $900. At leasst I made a little money on it... I couldn't afford two cars at the time but had no idea the one I chose to sell was really valuable.

I missed on a chance to get a 69 truck with a 402 BB for $500 I was supposed to meet the guy the next day but he never showed. I'm still kicking myself in the ass for not giving him the cash right there on the spot.

I bought a 68 toyota landcruiser for one measly dollar with a rod nock and my mom yelled at me, "there are too many damn cars in front of my house!!" I sold it for $1000 to buy a new surfboard and insurance on my 77' blazer. Then I found out the transfer case alone on that landcruiser was worth $1300. Man I wish I could of kept that jeep looking thingy.

i bought my 64 chevelle ss for 250 from an old farmer, replaced motor, trans, front end, rear end and all wiring in that car.
i went into the air force and had to leave it at my dads house while i was in florida. all i had left to do to that car was paint it and put interior in it. well my dad calls one day and said he had the car sold, i figured since i had a new baby, why not so i gave him the go ahead to sell it. my bad was that i forgot to ask how much he sold it for and when i got the money from him all i got was 500.00 bucks. well after calming down for 2 weeks i called him and asked why he sold my car way too cheap. well he never seen the car befopre i stored it there and didnt know howmuch work i had put into it. so he sold it for 500. yeah still hits a nerve today when i bring it up,but he made good when he dragged a 1970 z/28 r/s home for me one day and paid to have it built and painted as a token for the chevelle. but i still have the auto shifter and ss emblemes from the chevelle hanging in my garage as a reminder not to let someone else sell my car for me. |
