Seal between Firewall and Blower Motor
I pulled my heater core out today, replaced it then replaced (or attempted to) all the seals. Well when I went to put the blower motor seal in, it doesnt fit so well.
Does anyone know if the flat part faces the firewall or the blower? The PICTURE on the instruction makes it look like the flat part goes against firewall but when you tighten everything up it makes the flat part flare out and look kind of weird. Anyone do this and know what Im talking about??? THANKS! |

Yes , the flat part should be against the firewall. What is the temp like where you are working on it? If it is cool you might need to warm up the seal when you install it. LockDoc

Re: Seal between Firewall and Blower Motor
well it's fitting fine but the flat part is tappered on the inner part of the whole, so when you tighten it up....it bows out the flat part....

Re: Seal between Firewall and Blower Motor
This is how it looks on the box before assembly. It should fit flat against the fire wall once it's installed.

Re: Seal between Firewall and Blower Motor
wow mine does NOT look like that...Mine is completely flat on the side that's facing the camera in the picture. And it's beveled on the inner part of the circle

Re: Seal between Firewall and Blower Motor
I cant think of how to explain this...but see how that one looks like the whole thing curves in or belled....mine is flat around the outside and then it has the inner beveled part....

Re: Seal between Firewall and Blower Motor
I have the rubber one also & it flares outward as well. I tried both ways, still the same. So, it seals & doesn't leak, works for me......moving on.....
