It never fails!!!!!! Rant
Just made the final payment on my Suburban last week.
Fought through a 16 day long extreme cold snap that finally broke on Monday. Last Saturday my power steering hoses started leaking getting progressivly worse. Got new hoses yesterday(still on the counter at work) ANd then to top it all off......Tonight after work I go out to start the Burb and here a clacking sound under the hood. Pop the hood and shine my flashlight under the hood to see the WATER PUMP PULLEY & SHAFT BOUNCING AROUND!!!!!!!! So now it sits at work waiting for tomorrow when HOPEFULLY either I can get it fixed or take the time and do it myself. It never fails, just when I think I'm getting my head above water I get sucked back under again!!!!!!!!!

Hey, look at it this way. At least the water pump went out at work, not somewhere in between and then leaving you stranded. My old Chevy was that way, when it decided to break, it at least did it at home, not in the middle of nowhere.

Luckily the lifetime warranty pumps for these trucks are about $30. Grab a couple of gaskets and some hi-tac if you don't already have some and go to town. New lower rad hose, some fresh antifreeze, and a flush with plain water is a good idea if you're not dealing with a fresh cooling system.

You shouldn't have told the truck it was paid off.

Yo! Good deal BLE 'BURBAN!
Hate to tell YOU (especially), but I buy all my stuff from NAPA for those reasons. All my cars and trucks are based on NAPA parts (the normal "wear and tear" replacement parts, anyway). NAPA is REALLY close (only five miles down the road),...and I'm out here in the boonies! Plus they back everything up for me, and the warranties are great. For the "once in a lifetime" replaced parts I come to places like your parts dept. or some of my trusted vendors. Sorry about the timing of these failures (especially with weather and lack of light this time of year), but I find that once I complete a repair, I usually never have to repeat that fix on the same vehicle,...unfortunately I have nine on the road!!! Keeps me busy! Best of luck with your newly paid off truck! Todd.
