Re: Drop Shocks, What are u Using?
I've always liked Belltech shocks. KYB's are good too. Stay away from Toxic Shocks. They're terrible!

Re: Drop Shocks, What are u Using?
Whats wrong with the toxics? To stiff? to soft? Whats their issue? I'm going to be looking for lowered shocks soon aswell.

Re: Drop Shocks, What are u Using?
I had a set on my old '99 Silverado lowered 4/6. The road like crap. Really harsh, rebound was terrible. I put on a set of Doetsch shocks. There was a night and day difference.

Re: Drop Shocks, What are u Using?
Sport Truck Direct sells them. Maybe Summit racing.
Here's their website: www.doetsch-shocks.com.

OK cool sounds like the toxics are no where near an option then.
Thanks, Frank

Re: Drop Shocks, What are u Using?
I just had a 2.5/4 drop installed on my 86 with the Belltech Streetperformance shocks all the way around. Ride is great however I think my front tires are to tall\wide. I hit a pretty big bump and I heard a scraping sound. When I got home it checked underneath didn't see anything looked at the front tires and there is a scrap on the drivers side tire. Tire size is 275/60/15 right now but I've got some 18" wheels I need to have put on there just trying to decide on tire size now. Hope this info helps.

I have the Belltech Street Performance shocks also. My truck is dropped 4/6. I like them, don't have any complaints.

Re: Drop Shocks, What are u Using?
my doetsch worked ok but they were just as long as the factory shocks i was told the just had different valving so if i hit a big enough bump the bottomed out i traded them out for some belltechs and they are really nice ride real smooth.

Re: Drop Shocks, What are u Using?
Just got my toxics. The price was great and they are better than the 30 year old stocker i had. Worked well with the 2-4 i just installed.

Re: Drop Shocks, What are u Using?
they sell the belltech street performance in summits but do summit just sells them for rear only or they also sell for the front or can use the rear for the front.

I run DJM Cal-Max on mine with a 3/7 drop, they ride purdy good, the back has a good bit of rebound on big bumps tho

Re: Drop Shocks, What are u Using?
I have always run the doetsch tech shocks, and have always ordered them directly from them. Great service, great shocks, and plenty of mounting options and varying lengths. Their website is pretty comprehensive, and there contact info for ordering is on there as well. You can also order online through their website.
