New chevy blazer owner
Stumbled onto this web site. Looks to be a good one with lots of information. I just became the owner of a 1979 blazer. Picked it up out of a friends yard for hauling fees. Will post pictures soon..
Being new to 4x4's I have a couple of questions. Truck has been lifted about 4" and the front drive shaft looks to be short, you can see about 1 1/2" to 2" of spine, is this O.K. ? If not do they make a spacer or will the drive shaft have to be lengthened? The engine is a 1996 305cid vortec, it was modified with original carb with electric fuel pump. My question can a mechanical fuel pump be installed? Thanks and bare with me as I learn how to post.. |

Welcome to the site.. About the spline it shows anyway, but you may want to pull the drive shaft and see how much spline you have not showing. On the fuel pump thing, you can go back to a mechanical fuel pump if the block has a place for one. I know some of the newer block you can not put one on. Just look and see if it has a cap on the block. One more thing you have to post pics it just not cool with out any.. Trav

Thanks for the info, the block does have a blank cover where the fuel pump would go. I will post pics when I get a chance.
Thanks |

Re: New chevy blazer owner
We had 1 350 a few years ago that had the fuel pump boss, but when we pulled the engine down to rebuild there was no lobe on the factory cam for the fuel pump pushrod...
