It's triplets!!!
I guess I should have titled this"Am I Nucking Futs?" My wonderful, loving, and understanding wife and I went for a little drive today to look at a parts burb. Plenty of the good ol' Minnesota rust, but lookie at some of the treats it has. And it is OCHRE to boot! I think it will fit in with the rest of the family.

triplets, two were born in 71 and the third was in 72. There must have been complications.

Very cool, I really like 4x4 burbs. Did you say"Factory buckets"?? Cool, never actually seen a burb with the original buckets in it. Lets see that glove box option sticker.( I love to read those ). I see some of "Honest Chris" trucks in the background!!

So can your parts burban be a parts burban for mine too? How much you want for those mirrors? All three of them.
Nice score. Now you need to find a fourth! Possible a 69.

Joesjunk, Yep, the 2 trucks from "Honest" Chris were still out side. The 67 went into the barn for the winter today. I have been running a bit late for the winter storage season. Thankfully no SNOW yet. It should have all been put away in early November. I washed my good 71 burb and lined them all up for pictures. Then the two 2 wheel drive burbs were put away for the season.
I did take a picture of the glovebox door, but it just doesn't turn out legible. The list has the 350/4bbl engine, th350 auto, buckets and console, front tow hooks, back seat, custom deluxe trim, 16" rims(of which only the spare tire 16" rim remains) I will try it again tomorrow when I attempt to get this truck running. It last ran in 98 and Brian said it ran great then, drove great then, but it just doesn't stop anymore. Anyway, I'd like to blow the mouse nest's out of the exhaust system at the very least. There were a few rodents that jumped ship while it was loaded on the trailer and I am sure there are more to be found. Now my problem is, do the lowered and street version of a burb that I have been planning to do, or use the body on the 4x4 chassis. A 71 4x4 with 98 burb leather sounds pretty comfy. Maybe use the 350 Tune Port I have for it's powerplant too. Something to think about over this upcoming winter. |

You have a serious addiction, my friend. I don't know if there is a cure but it's comforting to know you have an online support group to help you through! My problem is the "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors tow hooks, rally wheels, or anything else that is thy neighbors" commandment. I'll be over.

In Arkansas, on I-30 (the eastbound side) near exit 123 (well, just west of the overpass) you can find what seems like a nice, clean ochre and white long wheel base GMC for sale. I haven't stopped to look at it more closely, but maybe I will, if asked. It's got the upper/lower trim, chrome front bumper (haven't seen the back of it), full wheel covers, white walls...you know the drill. Like I said, it looks nice, kinda like it never sold when new.

da-burb, the '67 is actually a pickup. 327 I believe in it, mint condition though. Might be had real cheap at the moment as its only 2 wheel drive in a lot full of 4 wheel drive trucks.
Just helping you're get more tempted.

Well it runs great! It didn't take much work to get it running. I ran a line from the fuel pump to a gas can. Pulled the wire to the coil and cranked it over till I had oil pressure. Connect the wire, gave it a shot of started fluid and off she popped. Then after 5 quarts of fluid the tranny engaged forward and reverse with a good strong drop into gear. The brakes are bad and it looks like it might be the booster and/or the master cylinder.
I don't know if this will become a winter beater truck or not. It looks like it could be pretty good mechanically, but there isn't anything on the body that is still connected to the floor along the bottom of the truck and all the cab supports are gone too. |
