1971 Spray in bedliner Line-X Info + Pics

Ok here we go ..
I have a 1971 Blazer 4x4 I had all internal rust cut out and removed and replaced with the idea of having a spray in bed liner applied to not only hell with preservation but with sound as well. While I thought about it for a long time I finally went ahead with it and also to my amazement they were able to spray my top inside and out as well so I had that done as well. They offer many colors but I just simply chose black for the inside and the top changing my top from white to black. All I can say is i am extremely happy with my choice in doing this is looks like a brand new truck with a brand new top and the sound it a lot less noticeable now. The top has Xtra provides enhanced puncture and abrasion resistance, for a durable, custom, color-coded fit and finish. Fortified with DuPont Kevlar, Xtra provides unrivaled U/V stability and can be color-coded to manufacturer’s paint specifications! Or, if you prefer black, Xtra provides the same, long-lasting U/V stability for miles of maintenance-free protection for your truck. No matter how you use it, LINE-X Xtra with DuPont Kevlar, provides enhanced puncture and abrasion resistance, for a durable, custom, color-coded fit and finish.

Ok so I am going to post before hand pictures for now and will post the completed job with in a few days My camera is acting up right now so you can see what is started from at least haha.

Looks nice. How do you think spraying the top white would have worked out? Would it 'yellow' out?

How well of a job does the liner do on deadening the road noise? The top and the bed look great! That looks like something I need to add to my to do list.

The Road Noise is a lot quieter than it was for me its not like a Cadillac or anything it still sounds like a truck haha but if def killed about 40-50% of it so it was a pretty big improvement

Do you think the outside black will add to the temp on the inside during the summer?

I doubt it would be too bad but then again that has not been tested but The U/V protect ant coating on the top it supposed to help with that and fading. My tint helps also i have 100% U/V Block on my limo tint it cost a lil extra for the tint but i have had all of my cars tinted from the same place and that U/V block really helps on those summer days haha My M3 has black leather and without the tint on a 100 degree day it would be about 120 in there after 2 hours and now the temp only rises to about 85 so the tint will def help.

I guess but they had to do alot more detailed work on the bed Save the holes i needed and fill in the holes i dident need and remove panel plates and spray and then spray the plates and some other misc detailed work was involved in doing the bed all in all the whole deal i say was pretty in expensive for the multi purpose its going to serve. I am planing on keeping it so i am putting extra effort into it for preservation. Belive it or not that place can spray my entire truckmeaning the whole outside if i wanted to haha but i think that would be too much black and if i picked a color it would weird with like a textured paint haha it would prob last for ever then haha but i am just going to get the original paint on the outside but yes that place can spray anything really and it has a life time from any of there like 500 shops if somehow you do damage it and to prove that the guy sprayed a piece of metal they had around the shop while i was there and in about 5 hours after it dried i came back he gave me a hammer and tole me to try to damage or ship the material and i couldn't so its tuff stuff that's for sure.

Did they pull the windows out when they did the top or mask them off? I was going to do this to mine and was wondering how the window rubber would fit and seal if the top was sprayed with them out.

I had the option to do that but it would have cost more and the seal would have fit over it he showed me a example of that Or if i would have had No windows like if i pulled them out myself that would have worked too. but no on mine they just masked it and i am very happy with the way it worked out. I cant see any white anywhere so they did a great job, Also it did not ass that much weight to the top either i was impressed

I think I'll pull my windows and paint some black around the window area then put the windows back in with new seals before I have mine done. That way I won't have to worry about replacing the rubber sometime down the road and not having it match up to where they sprayed around the old rubber. I'm glad someone had this done and could give feedback. I had a thread about this about a year ago and never really got any info.

I have been looking to do this for awhile as well. Were they able to spray the insides of your Blazer without taking the top off? I was just curious about that because I would like to avoid having to take the top off if at all possible. Looks great and thanks for the pics.

Re: 1972 Spray in bedliner Line-X Info + Pics

that looks great! im about to do a line-x spray inside my 71 k5, before there was a crappy grey bedliner but i completely grinned it all out including the original paint so they would not have to do any sand blasting, how much less do you think it would cost just for the bed, having that said?
