I have a flip kit in the back of my 77 and for some reason it brought the back end down around 8" so I added a shorter shackle to bring it up a little, but I would still like it about 1" taller.

Actually I dont mind how it looks but I want a little bit of rake so the front sits too low. So anybody have an idea how to bring up the rear a bit?

You might be able to remove a leaf, but that's sh ty answer.(re-thint that won't work, would it? Your axle is already sitting on the main leaf w/eye's on each end. You may be stuck on that one.

You may have to move the hangers on the frame. I can't think of other options. double sh ty.

Do you have any blocks on your flip kit? if so, remove them.

go get some air shocks, they are about 75 a pair and air em up...that raised my 05 up a least an inch.

You need to change out the rear leaf spring hanger with one from a 4x4 blazer. I saw this done in a magazine years ago. They had the same problem. Used a flip kit and it sat TOO low.

They swapped the 2wd hangers for a set of longer 4x4 hangers. Seems like it raised it another inch+. The big pain is the tank being in the way,... and the hangers are riveted on.
My '82 2wd blazer that I use to have, had a flip kit also. I solve the "lowness" by unflipping it, and using 4" lowered leaf springs and long shackles.
If I had it to do over I would have just gone the "4x4 hanger" route. Alot cheaper and the long shackle doesn't get in the way of the fuel fill hose.

I think that is what I'm going to end up doing, I just dont have the $$ to ditch the rally wheels right now. I was hoping there would be a simple fix but...

have you thought about dropping the front some more to achieve your desired rake?

Yep,... just the rear 4x4 hanger (back by the bumper) should do it.

The front is actually the main problem, it's too low now but it's pretty easy to fix that.

I think what I'll do temporarily is add a taller tire to the back and then I can add spring 1" taller to the front. Later this summer I'll order a set of bigger wheels and tires and then hopefully I wont drag the control arms over extremely small bumps ha ha

I'm glad you are paying attention, I didnt even think about that ha ha. They are about 3-4" away right now, do most people pull them out, cut holes in the top, trailer fenders ?

Adding a 1" block to a flipped axle would lower it more, not raise it up.
