Backup light switch for Borg T10 4 speed question ?
Going to do a tranny swap to a Borg Warner Super T10 tranny. There must be a kit to hook up the reverse lights but I can't seem to find any info on this. Shifter is a Hurst Competition Plus and correct linkage. There is a small hole on the reverse lever, maybe to hook a switch to ? I think something for a Muncie might works also.
Any help would be great, Thanks.

I never realized that I have the same problem. I'll ask the 55 Chevy man at work tomorrow.

Re: Backup light switch for Borg T10 4 speed question ?
Borg Warner 4spds had a bracket and switch bolted to the side cover, and used a rod to go into the hole in the reverse lever,

Re: Backup light switch for Borg T10 4 speed question ?
Classic Industries has the backup switches and harnesses for the 4 speed manual transmissions. They are listed by year with different part numbers. I did not see the small rods listed but they may have them.
Here is a link: www.classicindustries.com Jim

Re: Backup light switch for Borg T10 4 speed question ?
i also have a ST-10 w/ comp plus shifter, and i have bracket that bolts to the shifter mech and when you engage the rev lever, the arm on the shifter presses the switch and supplys ground to the circuit.

Re: Backup light switch for Borg T10 4 speed question ?
I found those here:
http://www.show-cars.com/05-Clutch%20&%20Trans.htm Scroll down to four-speed backups. then look for 58 - 63 parts.. (GM went to Muncies in 64(... They do have 3 different switches listed but I think it will not matter as the only difference appears to be the wiring.. you will have to wire that up your self.. if your truck originally had a granny gear 4 spd, then you should have wires already down near the trans, look for two green ones.. light green and dark green. you should be able to connect the factory ones to the T-10 switch |
